Rewarding work

Seven years ago I compiled a book of memories, journals, pictures and life histories, called The Life and Legacy of Scott Ray Peck and Janice Anne Lawlor(Jared's Mom and Dad). They had been killed by a drunk driver at age 32 and 35, Janice being nine months pregnant. Sadly my book has been sitting on our bookshelf for quite a long time. I took it out to show a friend last night. Well, this morning Cara came up to me in tears, holding the book. She showed me all the things she had been reading about for the last hour. She is learning about her grandparents she will not get to know in this life. THIS was the reason I put my heart and soul into this book, so my children can know Grandma and Grandpa. It meant a lot to me to see her treasure this book. Just one more testimony of the importance of recording a family history.

That is so awesome that you were able to make a book. How special for your kids to be able to get to know their grandparents.

Next time you come up to Idaho you should bring it. I would love to show it to Jaxton- he is always asking about "Scott and Jan" He seems to know very well who they are.
