Jared was called into the bishopric yesterday. It was a busy day for him and a an emotional day for us both. Jared leaned over to me in church and told me he knew his Mom and Dad were there. There have been a few special moments in our life that we truly have felt their presence. After the Stake President called him and the ward sustained him and he was asked to come up to the stand, I had a hard time letting go of his hand. I really am going to miss not sitting by him in church, not just because I am left with four kids to take care of by myself! At least I can wink at him.
My parents were able to be there. They were kind enough to postpone their vacation to do so. My dad was able to confirm Jared as a High Priest. My Dad said he felt like he was doing it in proxy for Scott, Jared's dad. Jared was told in his blessing how much his Mom and Dad love him and that they were pleased with him. It really was a special moment. I love Jared and know he will be a blessing to our ward.

I love this post, I am sure that Jared will be wonderful in his calling. And I want you to know how thankful I am to you for putting that book together, I pick it up and read from it often, in fact it sits by my bed. What amazing people they were and tremendous examples to me, and without your book, I wouldn't know that nearly as much. Thank you for your words, it's so great to see your blog and be in touch with you guys!
There have been times when I have thought about that book, and wished that I had one. I kinda read some of it when I was in University a while back and was so touched by what I read too. Congratulations on Jared's calling. I hope your family will feel blessings outpouring from that. Love you guys. Tell Jared Hi.
